Description: André Anderrson is a renowned bladesmith from the north of Sweden. His career as a knifemaker started in 1999 after a weekend course with famous bladesmith Roger Bergh. Together with his father, Michael Andersson, he built up a small workshop with some of the necessary equipment. They proceeded to learn the struggles of making pattern welded steel together. Every knife André makes is one of a kind and he prefers not to make a knife similar to one already finished. Unfortunately, André's work rarely makes it over to the United States anymore. This Swedish Hunter was made back in 2009 and was kept in a private collection since it was made. Other than a couple of very minor and hard to see scuffs on the guard from the sheath, the knife is in new condition. The price reflects a discount for the slight scuffs from the sheath.
The 6-1/2 inch blade is made from star twist damascus combining Uddeholm 15LM and 15N20 carbon steels. The pattern is deeply etched allowing it to be seen from a distance. The blade is hollow ground with a false edge running along the top of the knife. We recommend using camellia oil to advoid rust.
The handle combines purple and yellow dyed stabilized birch wood. The spacers, guard, and ricasso, are etched sterling silver with gold plating. The handle is contoured to provide a comfortable grip.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled Swedish style single seam leather sheath is included. The tooled matches the etching in the fittings.
Excellent work throughout!
