Description: This exceptional Swedish Hunter was made by Claes Lofgren. It was kept in a private collection and has been well cared for. It is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
Lofgren was born in 1976 in Eksjö, Sweden He began making knives in 2000. After just five months of making knives, he decided to send his fifth knife to the big competition in Ludvika, where he managed to win the first prize! Over the years, he has won many awards in the Nordic Championship and the Knife Expo in Los Angeles. Claes' knives are exceptionally creative, yet show their traditional Swedish roots.
The mosaic damascus blade was forged and ground by renowned bladesmith Mattias Styrefors. The pattern combines 15N20, 20C, and nickel into a high performance, dramatic blade.
The handle combines desert ironwood with woolly mammoth bone spacers. A crosscut mammoth ivory 'bolster' completes the handle. The handle is carved and stippled for a really nice effect..
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled, single seam traditional Swedish custom sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
