Description: This is a stunning liner-lock folder from Michael Veit of LaSalle, Illinois. Blade Magazine has called Veit the "Heartland Knifemaker" and states the Veits's knives are "Tukish Damascus delights". Not only was the damascus forged by Michael, but the engraving and gold inlay is by him as well. Veit studied under Jerry Rados and is a terrifically talented knifemaker. Michael's work is rarely available. This folder has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, Michael could have made it yesterday.
The blade and scales are a fine Turkish Twist pattern damacsus forged from O1 and 203E carbon steels. This impressive pattern is created by combining many bars of Twist pattern damascus, set in opposing directions, being careful to have each bar forged with the same amount of twist.
The gun blued scales are inlaid with copious 24k gold and meticulously hand engraved. Like the scales, the backbar is also matching damascus and inlaid with 24k gold.
Absolutely spectacular!
