Description: This folder was made by renowned knfiemaker W.E. Ankrom. Bill has retired from knifemaking. Bill got started knifemaking in 1975 when a friend opened a sporting goods business which provided an outlet for his knives. At first, he only made fixed blades, but Folders quickly become what he was best known for. Ankrom is a long time voting member of the Knifemakers' Guild. This knife has been in a private collection and was made in the mid 2000s. It is in new condition and by all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The blade is hand ground heat blued mosaic damascus, forged by Robert Eggerling. It primarily combines blue and purple tones, but a central nickel figure is brilliant silver toned. The blade has silky-smooth action and is easily opened with the right-handed thumb stud. Perfectly centered blade.
Presentation grade bank mammoth ivory handle scales are set on anodized titanium liners. The scales meet seamlessly with heat colored mosaic damascus bolsters. The backbar is a matching mosaic damascus.
Exceptional work throughout!
