Description: Vaul from Seattle knifemaker Jeff Driscoll is not your run of the mill desk knife. This highly sculpted presentation combines a detailed dragon's head sheath with a stinger tail-handled blade. The knife fits in the sheath up or down.
The heat colored multi-bar damascus blade was forged by Vlad Matveev of Bryansk, Russia. The exceptional blade features a firecracker pattern at the spine and edge, surrounding a central bar of mosaic damascus. The complex damascus pattern will have you staring at it for hours. Because the knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to prevent rust.
The knife's handle forms the dragon's tail and is heavily sculpted from African Blackwood. African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) is among the most dense, durable woods in the world and is highly prized for its jet black appearance. The tail culminates into a stinger made from damascus forged by Washington bladesmith Matt Whitmus. The tulipwood bolster adds excellent contrast to the jet black handle.
The dragon's head sheath is meticulously hand carved from purpleheart wood by Driscoll. The two eyes are twin amethysts featuring oval cabochon cuts and a combined weight of 5.94 ct. The head spike is matching damascus forged by Matt Whitmus.
Great work throughout!
