Description: Jason Clark is a part time, sole authorship knifemaker from O'Brien, Florida. Jason has been employed full time as a Florida Law Enforcement Officer since 1997 and knows what it takes to make a high functioning knife that is meant to be used. He even offers lifetime free sharpening for any knife he has made!
The blade is perfectly centered with silky smooth, drop shut action -- easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous flipper toggle. It uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The blade is hand ground premium CPM-MagnaCut stainless steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 62. CPM-MagnaCut is a new premium stainless steel created by Crucible with the help of professional metallurgist Dr. Larrin Thomas. MagnaCut combines the high toughness of CPM-4V with the corrosion resistance of CPM-20CV. This creates a perfect blade steel option for knives that need high toughness and great edge retention while still being easy to maintain. This makes MagnaCut a great candidate for both folding knives and hard use fixed blades. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
Handle scales are Arizona desert ironwood, set on bronze anodized titanium liners. Desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is among the most desirable of exotic woods used for knives. This dense wood is both dramatic and has tremendous stability. The scales are dovetailed to heat colored zirconium bolsters. The titanium liners surround a free floating titanium backbar. The heat colored zirconium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
To protect the knife during storage or transportation, a hand stitched leather pocket pouch made by Jason's wife is included.
Excellent work throughout!
