Description: Journeyman Smith Mardi Meshejian is one of the true innovators of artful knife designs. This folder is both creative and captivating, while being extremely useful.
Mardi forged the wharnecliff blade to shape from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The extended tang draws its inspiration from the Japanese higonokami folding knife. The 2.8 inch blade is flat ground and razor sharp. We recommend using camellia oil to protect the blade and ancient mammoth ivory handle.
The blade has smooth action and securely locks open with a locking liner. The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth action.
Fluted mammoth ivory scales are set on bright purple anodized titanium liners. The liners surround a copper backbar featuring a traditional Japanese patina known as Hido. The copper is heated until right before its melting point and quenched to produce a very pleasing scarlet red patina. The inside of the backbar is engraved with Mardi's touchmark.
Excellent work throughout!
