Description: Journeyman Smith Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in his country. His attention to detail and fine design aesthetic is clearly apparent in this elegant and high performing folder. He has worked extensively with Mastersmiths Bill Burke and Bill Ruple. He is a tremendous smith at the forge and his attention to detail really shows through in his slip joint folders.
The three blades are hand ground CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. The blades can be easily opened using the nail nicks.
Exhibition grade whitelip mother of pearl scales are set on satin finished and fileworked liners using hand domed pins. Satin finished front and rear bolsters will help protect the scales if the knife is dropped. For superior structural integrity, the bolsters are integral to the fileworked liners. The fileworked liners surround a coin fileworked spacer.
Excellent work throughout!
