Description: This exceptional hunter was created by award winning Swedish knifemaker Alexander Ahl. Alexander was born in 1991 in the northern-most parts of Sweden. Ever since he was a kid, he was fascinated by the art and craftsmanship of handmade knives. He was fortunate enough to meet world renowned bladesmith Mattias Styrefors, who eventually became his mentor and friend.
The exquisite blade was forged by Styrefors. 20C and 15N20 carbon steels are combined into complex mosaic damascus bars. These, in turn were forged together to create the dramatic blade. The central mosaic damascus bar is surrounded by twisted Ws pattern damascus, creating a very dramatic effect.
The stacked handle combines an ancient walrus ivory bolster with Arizona desert ironwood and mammoth ivory. The mammoth ivory is engraved in traditional Sami-style. Showing tremendous skill, the engraved pattern progresses in size. Blue fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The highly sculpted handle is exceptionally comfortable and locks your fingers into place.
The traditional Swedish single seam rawhide sheath is tooled and features mammoth ivory overlays. Like the handle, the ancient ivory has been engraved in Sami motif. The sheath is nearly as much of a work of art as the knife … and that says a lot.
Exceptional work throughout from a maker that is making waves throughout Northern Europe.
