Description: Bob Lay's designs are well thought through and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. Regrettably, these days, very few of his knives make it over to the US.
The blade is 154CM stainless steel that has been heat treated to Rc 58 for optimal edge retention and durability. By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob shows off clean grind lines that are very dramatic. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. A large choil allows choking up for more detail oriented tasks.
The handle combines an elk column with large emerald green alder wood spacers. Alternating brass and green fiber liners will help the natural materials adjust to humidity and temperature changes while out in the field. A polished guard and aluminum end cap finish the handle and bring a nice weight into the knife.
This knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather custom sheath and a Cordura storage pouch. This knife will be a perfect companion for any adventure!
Excellent work throughout!
