Description: Alan Warren creates a stylish and capable knife. This knife has been in a private collection since it was made in April of 2004. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Warren could have made it yesterday. This knife won Best New Knifemaker at the OKCA Show in 2004.
The large 10 inch clip point blade is hand ground CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. Allen's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The handle is frame construction with ancient mammoth ivory scales pinned to a polished and tapered stainless steel frame. The nickel silver guard and rear bolster are hand engraved by Lee R. Griffiths. The coffin handle shape is extremely comfortable.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled leather sheath made by Allen is included. The front of the sheath features an Oregon Trail Memorial Half Dollar made in 1926.
Nice work throughout!
