Description: This hunting knife by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives by other makers. The hand forged, antiqued carbon steel blade is nicely complemented by the natural stag handle -- which feels so good that you won't want to put it down. This knife has been in a private collection since it was made by Raymond. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition.
The blade is forged from steel recovered from an antique lumber saw blade -- an extremely tough steel with very good edge holding. A differential heat treatment of the blade ensures a great combination of hardness and toughness. The blade is distal tapered for perfect balance.
The wrought iron for the pommel and guard was forged from an 1800s era anchor chain. The handle is a solid piece of deer antler.
This knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
