Description: Paul DiStefano is a bladesmith from Staten Island New York. He has been making knives full time since 2017 and is a Journeyman smith with the American Bladesmith Society. His knives are hand forged with a hammer and anvil. He is an up and coming maker doing some really incredible work and is clearly a bladesmith to keep an eye on!
The topographical damascus pattern is forged from carbon steels. A blued finish provides a non reflective surface and will provide limited rust resistance. The deep recurve in the blade provides excellent cutting and chopping power. Despite its size, this knife is light and nimble. The spine and ricasso is nicely rounded for choking up on the blade. Paul's mark is on the left side of the ricasso. Because this knife is made from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and natural wood handle.
The handle is dyed and stabilized maple burl, secured to the tang using a hand domed brass pin. The contoured handle is extremely comfortable and offers a non-slip grip. The brass bolster is textured on the sides and satin finished on the front.
Excellent work throughout!
