Description: This Stockman slipjoint was made by Journeyman Smith Bruce Barnett. A maker from Australia, Barnett has worked alongside some of the most prominent knifemakers in the world.
This exquisite classic three blade folder sports handles made from merino sheep horn. The scales are secured with hand domed stainless pins on each side. A CPM154 stainless steel back spring provides strength and durability.
The blades are hand satin finished premium CPM154 that has been heat treated to Rc 59-60 for optimal edge retention and durability. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! The wharncliffe blade is 2.2" long with a cutting edge of 1.85". The clip point is 2.95" overall with a 2.55" edge length. The spey blade is 2.1" overall with a 1.8" edge length.
This classic three blade stockman is a simple, yet elegant piece that can be put to hard use or be a pocket companion for daily tasks -- though it would certainly be the highlight of most any collection. Excellent work throughout!
