Description: Captain Bunshichi Koyama is a tremendously creative knifemaker from Japan. His designs are truly innovative -- often combining ancient and modern materials into whimsical, unique creations.
This folder features a 1.9" VG10 suminagashi damascus san mai blade. VG-10 provides ultra-high performance with stain resistance. The blade is hollow ground for excellent edge geometry.
The locking mechanism Captain Koyama created is exceptionally unique. When open, the lock is released by pressing the the base of the blade upward.
The front of the handle is Arizona desert ironwood with a titanium damascus pivot collar. The reverse is textured titanium. Titanium barrel spacers keep the knife light yet rigid. The heat colored titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip down carry. The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather custom pocket pouch for easy carry, though you can also use the ballistic nylon belt pouch if you prefer.
Excellent work throughout from one of the most creative makers in the industry.
