Description: Mastersmith Shane Taylor has always been fascinated by Khukri. The Gurkha knife has inspired many knifemakers over the years and it is no surprise that this legendary blade affected Shane's (already creative) imagination. Taylor combined the traditional Khukri with his batwing fighter to create the Khuki Bat.
The blade was forged to shape from 1084 carbon steel. The grinds are satin finished. The flats are forge textured in a aether pattern. Each side features fullers to lighten the blade. A large recurve gives this khukri massive chopping power.
The handle combines forged bronze with carved African blackwood. The aether pattern was created by forging the bronze using custom dies. The scales are beautifully contoured for a secure, comfortable, swinging grip. They are set on a full tang with textured and heat colored screws. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered, ensuring a perfect sense of balance. This Khukri is relatively light and extremely nimble. You won't be able to resist swinging it!
Absolutely exceptional!
