Description: Conny Persson's knives are an inspiration to knifemakers and collectors. His influence in easily seen in many of the other Nordic makers. Regrettably, for many years, very little of his work gets to the US. This exceptional hunter has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Persson could have made it yesterday.
The drop point blade is Conny's own twisted Ws pattern damascus forged from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels. The blade was deeply etched and brought to a high polish. A hollow grind provides an easy to maintain edge. A large choil makes choking up on the blade easy for more delicate tasks.
Mammoth ivory scales are secured to the full damascus tang using torx screws. This allows the scales to be removed if additional cleaning under the scales are needed. The ancient ivory has caramel, black, and blue tones, a result of the minerals in the soil where the ivory rested for thousands of years. Because this knife is made from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and mammoth ivory scales.
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
