Description: I was tremendously pleased to meet bladesmith Dave Skinner at the 2019 Guild Show of Southern Africa. Dave brings a refined eye and tremendous skill at the forge to his knives. Over the last few years, his work has continued to develop and clearly shows a skillset that is found in very few knifemakers.
This utility/hunter is a tremendous example of his work. The blade is hand ground 14C28N stainless steel. 14C28N is tough, chip, resistant, highly corrosion resistant, and has great edge retention making it perfect for a blade that may be used for many different chores. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. Dave's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The contoured handle is premium Honduran rosewood (Dalbergia stevensonii). The wood has tremendous swirling figure with black lines moving through the warm toned wood. A distal tapered blade and tang ensure perfect balance. Handle scales meet nicely with satin finished 303 stainless steel bolsters.
This utility knife is accompanied by a custom wet formed and tooled cowhide sheath.
Exquisite work throughout!
