Description: Conny Persson's knives are an inspiration to knifemakers and collectors. His influence in easily seen in many of the other Nordic makers. Regrettably, for many years, very little of his work gets to the US. This exceptional dagger has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Persson could have made it yesterday.
The five bar composite mosaic damascus blade has excellent contrast and very complex patterns. It show's Conny's skill at its best. The central bar of mosaic damascus is forged using carbon steels and pure nickel, creating particularly high contrast. The firecracker pattern edge bars are forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels, ensuring the keenest possible edge.
The dramatic handle combines a central section of reindeer antler, surrounded by ebony and mosaic damascus fittings. The center of each side of the handle is inlaid with damascus and mammoth ivory. Each section is meticulously fit together.
The dagger is accompanied by a hand tooled, hand sewn custom Swedish leather sheath.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout from one of the great Nordic knifemakers.
