Description: Bill Moran is considered a legend among the knifemaking community and even considered the "father of modern damascus". He is credited for single-handedly reviving the lost art of forging damascus that has captivated knife enthusiasts and collectors worldwide! Bill founded the American Bladesmithing Society in 1976 and the American Bladesmith School in 1988 to continue teaching the craft of world class knifemaking. There are few knives that are more collectable than an original Bill Moran knife and we were excited to get one of his extremely rare upswept gent's bowies. This knife was kept in a private collection and is in excellent condition. There are some light scratches in the blade, though these is very minimal.
This Upswept Gent's Bowie by renowned knifemaker Bill Moral features a carbon steel, satin finished blade. Moran's Lime Kiln, MD mark is on the right ricasso.
The contoured handle is formed from curly maple. The brass guard and butt cap distribute the weight so that the handle easily sits in the hand.
The knife is accompanied by the original leather sheath with hand sharpening stone.
This is a chance to own a piece of knifemaking history that is sure to become a family heirloom.
