Description: Roger is in no danger of losing the award for most exotic handle materials. It's very difficult to say what is the most striking thing about this dagger. The blade has a classic shape and the Damascus is very dramatic and well etched. The guard and quillions are two separate pieces, both of the same well-etched mosaic Damascus. The quillions have 18kt gold finials at the end. The handle is an artifact from the late 1800's and was originally the handle of a harpoon. It has a lanyard hole for the rope or thong used to pull it back in the case of a miss. The masur birch sheath is heat treated to a rich coffee brown. The throat and end cap of the sheath are textured sterling silver, which accents the gloss of the guard very well. This is a piece to be treasured.
