Description: Conny Persson's knives are an inspiration to knifemakers and collectors. His influence in easily seen in many of the other Nordic makers such as Roger Bergh and Micke Andersson. Regrettably, very little of his work gets to the US these days. This exceptional hunter was made by Conny around 2007. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Persson could have made it yesterday.
The three bar composite blade has excellent contrast. The edge and spine bars were forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge. The central mosaic damascus bar was forged with pure nickel, creating a stark contrast . The blade has been heat blued for a dramatic iridescent effect.
The handle combines a woolly mammoth bone spacer and an African blackwood bolster with stabilized maple burl. The handle is nicely contoured for a secure, comfortable grip. It is completed with a damascus end pin.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
